how has everyone’s summer been so far?

june was a relatively quiet one for us. our time was split between europe and asia for various reasons, and instead of launching a few designs previously slated for the month, we spent most of it doubling down on prototypes and other designs in our release pipeline. the rest of 2022 is just… stacked. at times it feels like we’re running out of months to release these things into the world. new iterations, fresh designs with new materials, reruns on some amazing colorways, fresh and tasty kit — we can’t wait to share all of this with you in due time.

travelling between places also allowed us to dip into our archives. you can look forward to some spoils being made available in our upcoming drop, if you ever wanted to pick up any of our designs at a lower price point. more details on that to come.

one highlight of our month was watching evgeniy pop off and place 2nd in the fifth edition of spinkult sessions.

spinkult sessions is a minimalist, non-seeded contest run by the brilliant group over at spinkult, with the aim of creating an offline platform for practicing competitive-oriented freestyle performances.

evgeniy somehow manages to make complex and dense play look so elegant, and with incredible rhythm and pacing. watching him doing all of this with an ari on a competitive stage is so surreal. we’ve probably watched his freestyle at least thirty times by now.

we’re just so proud to be represented by a player of his caliber and style. massive congratulations, evgeniy!

here’s a tiny teaser on a few things we’ve been focusing on in june. brass is a unique material that we’ve grown to love — it’s got a wonderful and useful density, and we love the way it patinas with time. it’s fuelling some new projects in our lab, and initial results are really interesting.

these prototypes have a great playfeel, but are due for some serious tinkering before they’re fully ready. prototype v2s are already in the works for both, and we’ll say more when we get them right.

bonus points if you can peek another new material we’ve got baking.

lastly, for everyone who’s written in to our dms and email, we’ve got a drop coming in the next few weeks. we’re gunning for late next week, but realistically it might be last week of july.

we have Noahs in various splash, speckle and acid wash colorways. we’ll also have aris in two special finishes — one being the legendary cracked finish we did previously on the lunar gravity, and another we’ll announce real soon.

some spoil grade gojis and fruitloops will be made available at the same drop.
